Grafton Animal Hospital is a full service facility offering medical and surgical services for dogs, cats, birds, and small exotics. The facility is equipped to hospitalize patients as long as needed in a manner that allows close observation and personalized treatment.

Grafton Animal Hospital opened March 1994, in a 2500 sq ft facility. In 1999, the practice had grown too large for the existing structure and was enlarged to 4000sq ft by adding a larger kennel, cat boarding area, and grooming room. One year later the treatment area and waiting room was enlarged by 30%, and an exam room was added. In late 2005, the hospital was expanded once again to 6000 sq ft.

Grafton Animal Hospital was first inspected by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) in 1995 and was certified to the highest level of accreditation. It has been recertified several times since and still maintains this prestigious status. AAHA is recognized as the worlds leading association for small animal veterinary hospitals whose goal is to help veterinary practices provide the very best in companion animal care.

The Boarding and Grooming facility has been inspected and certified by the American Boarding Kennel Association. It is one of only two kennels in Virginia that have met the rigorous standards set forth by the ABKA.

Grafton Animal Hospital (GAH) is a full service, AAHA certified facility offering medical and surgical services for dogs, cats, birds, and small pocket pets. The facility is equipped to hospitalize patients as long as needed in a manner that allows close observation and personalized treatment. Our success is founded upon our love of animals and respect for the human-animal bond. We are committed to providing the highest care available with an emphasis on client communication and client education.

We believe that thru client education, we can prevent more illness and greatly shorten the recovery period of unavoidable illness. Although we are staffed and equipped for convenient in-hospital treatment, we feel that recovery is faster when the pet is in the familiar comfort of home. We are determined to provide modern, high quality care to all, realizing that this care must be tailored to the individual pet and owner.

All who work at Grafton Animal Hospital must be real animal lovers. Each employee is trained to handle pets in a gentle and caring manner. Most of our staff has had years of experience in the veterinary hospital setting. All employees are required to receive weekly continuing education from inside and/or outside the hospital.

Grafton Animal Hospital works with Newport News Park Service and the National Wildlife Service in providing Medical care for sick and injured wildlife.
