Dr. Michael Gross, Practice Owner
Dr.
Gross is a 1983 graduate of Auburn University where he obtained a BS
degree in zoology and a D.V.M. degree from the School of Veterinary
Medicine. Upon graduation he moved into the Dare/Grafton area of York
County. From 1983-1984, he was a full time associate in a small animal
practice in Newport News. From 1984-1986 he worked at a 24 hour
veterinary hospital in Richmond, gaining experience in emergency as
well as outpatient medical practice. From 1986-1994 he worked as a
"relief" veterinarian for over a dozen practices between Chesapeake and
Richmond. In March of 1994 he opened Grafton Animal Hospital. In addition to small animal medicine,
Dr. Gross has a special interest in Avian (bird) and small exotic
medicine (rabbits, guinea pigs hamsters, etc.).
- He has been a member of the Association of Avian Veterinarians since 1980.
- He is a member of the Mid-Atlantic States Association of Avian Veterinarians
- American Veterinary Medical Association
- American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA)
- Virginia Veterinary Medical Association
- Greater Peninsula Veterinary Medical Association
- and two veterinary educational associations, the Tidewater and Richmond Academies
Outside
of work, Dr. Gross is an avid bicycle enthusiast, riding long distance
road bike rides in the summer, and mountain bikes in he winter. His
pets Squeaks and Croaker are listed here as part of our staff!

Dr. Bonnie Dolan
Dr.
Bonnie Dolan has been with us as one of our very knowledgeable doctors
since August 2004. She is a graduate of Texas A&M University. She
comes to us with many years of experience, knowledge and a huge amount
of patience and caring! Her interests include feline medicine and
internal medicine. Dr. Dolan has a very sweet 2 year old daughter that
keeps her on her toes as well as a spunky kitty named
“Tiger” and a dog named “Scout”. |

Dr. Maria Ramirez-Gorton Dr.
Maria Ramirez-Gorton is the newest member of our doctor staff.
She earned her B.S. in Animal Science from California Polytechnic
University, Pomona and her DVM from Kansas State University. She
recently moved to the Hampton Roads area after practicing in Los
Angeles and is thrilled to have the change of pace. Her special
interests include dermatology and dentistry. Now that she has a
little more spare time, it is spent chasing after her 2 children, Maya
and Jack, and her 3 dogs, "Billie", "Jake" and "Ruby". |
